Wjetech Spa is a technological aerospace startup founded October 2019
initially funded by Corfo (Chilean economic
development agency) and micro investors.
We were awarded startup
funds for our proposal (demonstrated) of a revolutionary method of space
propulsion that does not require fuel (propellantless
propulsion) permitting the constant acceleration of spacecraft, best for
traveling large distances (the limits of our solar system) and extend the
useful life of satellites and probes.
Immediate applications (first clients)
The global space economy
will continued to grow well beyond $423.8 billion, according to a report by the
Space Foundation.
One of its fastest growing
segments is the use of cubesats, nanosatellites that as the cost of their components fall they
are projected to have exponential growth in the coming decades.
Standard cubesat
Most of these cubsats do not have thrusters,
those that do are too small to contain sufficient propellant to permit orbital
plane change maneuvers.
As cubsats cannot change their orbits there are a growing
number of companies that intend to use autonomous space tugs that
latch to a cubstat (or other type of spacecraft that
has been crippled by lack of fuel or other reason) and move it to its new
orbit.
Among the companies
that are exploring the space tug segment are Momentus, Skyrora,
Airbus, SpaceLogistics
(Northrop Grumman), Astroscale, Clearspace and others that are competing to
excel in this lucrative market.
All these companies
will find our technology an enormous competitive advantage when our thrusters
are incorporated to their products.
A new space
industrial revolution is underway, the opportunity for growth for space
industry is literally infinite and we will be a part of that revolution.
We offer our
products to the aerospace industries that are fulfilling the needs of building
and maintaining humanity’s space infrastructure and eventually aid in the
exploration and exploitation of deep space.
